Be the Change for the World...from Home!

Be the change you want to see in the world. We all are drawn to this, we all want to participate, we all ought to save the planet.

The media shows us what other people are doing, it is in the national and international news. Students have organized Friday marches and protests to shout at governments that their inaction is no longer acceptable. People disrupt busy streets to save the planet from our over consumption. Other people take it to the internet, disseminate information, create groups that eventually will be out in the streets protesting for fairer ways of living towards each other and towards all the other living things with whom we share the planet. And we are going back to the news.

The news you watched yesterday or this morning on your favourite channel lying on your couch after a long day at work. The news you are now scrolling whilst you are sat in front of your cappuccino and checking your phone for a message from the friend that is now late. At the same time, the living room or the coffee shop becomes smaller and the space around you is slowly filled by a dense cloud. That feeling of guiltiness has invaded not only your space but your lungs, breathing is getting difficult; you agree with all the protests and media restlessness but you are being honest at not wanting to do anything that evident to everybody; just wanting to do your best for the cause. Yet, you feel like you are doing nothing, because literally you are not doing anything similar to what these admirable activities and admirable people are doing.

I am sure you haven't heard of the Lazy Person's Guide to Saving the World, No matter what your hard core activist or light core activist tells you. This can become your guide. It is mine. It is from United Nations. An easy and sensible way of implementing factual and realistic change that directly contributes to the cause of saving our planet...and adding savings to your wallet.

I am not saying it will be easy, but it can be done from home. It is SMART: specific, measureable, achievable, realistic and time-bound. Don't just think about it. We can save the world within the routine of our daily lives.

What do you say? Will you be joining me on this?
